While trying in vain to tidy up my messy condo, I stumbled accross a xerox of a sketch I started some six years ago when I was heavily into Everquest. I did the sketch after finally getting the Stone Etched War Sword from the Plane of Earth. It was a sword I remember seeing on my first week of playing that only one guy on our entire server had. I remember asking him about it and from that day, gaining that sword became a personal goal, benchmark, and gauge for when my Dark Elf Shadowknight, Cyclonos had arrived. Such good memories.
I changed up the drawing a good bit, but at least it's semi done and I can put my Shadowknight to rest :p

It cleaned up well =)
Awesome piece dude.
I remember the game years ago. A bunch of guys in the studio's lives revolved around it for a few months. Is the Everquest series still going today? Amazing sketch as always Sam!
SAM! THIS IS GREAT YO! The posture, and the elements of his suit is PHENOMENAL! You re a beast man, stay posted on my blog, i think you will like my next post, PEACE!
Thanks guys, trying to at least do a piece a every once in a while :p
Joseph: For ONLY a couple of months? I was addicted for years! I hear it's still going but it has fallen off a lot from when it was the preeminent MMO.
Chris: Thanks man, when you coming to LA for good? I'll keep checking in!
Hey Sam, we are moving out there the 28th of July, im hoping like CRAZY that something opens up out there, we'll see.
Ah yes Everquest...the Beginning of my MMO addiction. Great sketch Sam, I wonder though, it seems as if his left hand is missing something...perhaps a chalice, or a great helm or maybe A BALL OF ALL CONSUMING SHADOWY DEATH!
...anyways..hope all is well!
Darn you Keith and your keen eyes. Originally I had hoped to color this piece and put a glowing spell thing above his hand. I got lazy and just shaded it and forgot to add it. I did try to add a lineart shaded flame thing as an after thought but it just got lost in the the mass of lines. Good catch tho damn you!
